Do I need to know rendering to use TRARO?

Accepted Answer

No. TRARO works with the view you already have in Revit. There is no render engine and no materials to set up.

Can I use the free version for professional work?

Your first three exports are full quality with no watermark. After that the free version adds a watermark and limits to the Architectural collection.

If I buy TRARO VIZ PRO, is the watermark removed from the video?

Accepted Answer

No. VIZ PRO unlocks the full visual system. The camera engine stays on the free plan — three full-quality export Passes, then a watermark. For the full engine with no watermark you need TRARO Freelancer or TRARO Pass.

What is the difference between TRARO Freelancer and TRARO Pass?

Freelancer is a one-time payment and is yours forever, with everything TRARO includes today. Pass is annual and adds every new Signature Series collection we publish while it is active.

Does it work with heavy models?

Yes, although time per frame grows with model size. On very large models it helps to use a Section Box to limit what gets processed.

Simple mode is included in the free version. Standard and Advanced require a full licence.

Which Autodesk Revit versions does TRARO support?

Accepted Answer

Revit 2025, 2026 and 2027, on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. The installer detects the installed versions and registers the add-in in each one.

Why does Windows show a warning when installing TRARO?

Accepted Answer

TRARO is independent software and does not yet have a code signing certificate, so Windows shows "Unknown publisher" during installation. In SmartScreen choose "More info" and then "Run anyway"; in the Revit security prompt, choose "Always Load". The certificate will be purchased with the first sales.

What data does TRARO send?

Anonymous usage statistics, to know what to improve. It never sends your models, file names or project information.

The MP4 file is not created — what should I do?

Accepted Answer

The usual cause is antivirus software blocking FFmpeg. Check the permissions on the output folder. The frames are kept as a backup, so no work is lost.

Can I take the camera path to Enscape, Twinmotion or Lumion?

Accepted Answer

Yes. TRARO exports the camera path to Enscape as an XML file you load as a Video Path, and to Twinmotion and D5 Render as 12 keyframe views created in the Revit Project Browser, ready to use with Direct Link or D5 Livesync. You design the movement once and render it wherever you like.

Does TRARO work on Mac?

Yes, inside a Windows virtual machine, the same way Revit does. TRARO's own author develops and uses the add-in from a Mac running Parallels. There is no native macOS build because there is no native macOS Revit either.

Question 13

I work on a Mac and D5 Render will not run. What are my options?

Accepted Answer

D5 Render needs direct access to a dedicated GPU, and a virtual machine cannot provide it, so it does not run alongside a virtualised Revit on a Mac. TRARO came out of exactly that situation — its author is an architect working that way. TRARO runs wherever Revit runs, virtual machine included, though it does not replace D5's photorealism: for that you still need a PC with a GPU or a cloud rendering service.

Do TRARO VIZ styles work on plans and sections, or only in 3D?

They work on any view: plans, sections, elevations, detail views and 3D. A Signature can also be promoted to a native Revit view template, which stays saved in the project and works whether or not TRARO is open.
